How to obtain Indonesian Citizenship

I guess you don't need a confirmation that being married to an Indonesian you are entitled to a residency permit, do you? :D It's the law and it doesn't have to be confirmed to you by anyone, nor it is a favor that a civil servant would do to you. It's a Right.

For the processing of your citizenship, it's the same BA: processing of citizenship as per art. 19 UU 12/2006 and since 2016 is a "simplified" process done online. No need for a confirmation.

Legal source to read: Permenkumham Nomor 47 Tahun 2016 tentang Tata Cara Penyampaian Permohonan Kewarganegaraan Republik Indonesia Secara Elektronik
I will try the online procedure but I still need the support documents - SKIM & SKCK as far as I know, to upload.
The SKIM is the one I have to get support documents for from the Capil,
The SkCK is the one I have been told I must take to the Mabespolri in Jkt.

IF I have misunderstood any of this please, anyone let me know as it seems a pain in the bum to have to trail to Jakarta for a document, considering the covid situation.

The SKIM is the one I have to get support documents for from the Capil,
The SKIM is the letter by which Imigrasi acknowledge that you have been a legal resident for 5 full years (or 10 dicontinued years). For those married with an Indonesian and residing with an ITAP sponsored by their spouse like you, it is normal that Imigrasi checks the validity of every supporting document having allowed/still allowing the residency permit.
Therefore they may ask a proof that there is no divorce and that you live together. It is something that could be argued since divorcing is not always a reason for an ITAP to be void, but you don't want to waste time arguing with them when it's not useful. Likewise, if they want to check ten times the fact that you live together, so be it as long as it is done in a reasonnable amount of time.

The SkCK is the one I have been told I must take to the Mabespolri in Jkt.
Concerning WNA, and in the frame of the procedure of Naturalisasi, the SKCK is indeed issued by MABES POLRI. However, this is not nice from the cops to send you to Mabes Polri in JKT. This is their job to do it (like it's the job of the Kanim to send documents to DirJenIm or Kanwil). Normally you should just apply in the POLDA office (or sometimes Polsek can do it, but to be honest, if it were me I would start straight to Intelkam POLDA to do it) of your province of residence.

Regulation concerning SKCK: Peraturan Kepala Kepolisian Republik Indonesia Nomor 18 Tahun 2014 tentang Tata cara Penerbitan Surat Keterangan Catatan Kepolisian

Thanks A :*
I have to agree with you on this , it just seems so convoluted to go from a, to b, to c & then 200km to d.
However, despite there being a big poster about doing things online at the side of the guy in POLDA, he stated quite categorically that WE have to go to Jkt- I just hope that when I get there it isn't a "oh you need an appointment" or a "come back tomorrow" situation.
I need to explore this further.

Ok, Catatan Sipil- done- free & painless due to new toll road a round trip with documents in hand took less than 2 hours .
Documents submitted to KanIm & 3 million IDR paid, nice new touch that all money must be paid through post office to cut out corruption.

KanIm now have my passport and my KITAP in their files- I am not sure why this is so.
They say someone will be in touch in the next 7 days to do a home visit.

This all seems excessive for a document to say I have lived here for 5+ years, surely they could get that from looking at my visas in my passport.

So, still not actually applied for cit/ship yet.

I am curious...
I still don't have my passport back from Immi, and I still need to get to Jakarta-
Anies has shut Jakarta down...
Can I still get through to there from Bandung & will the cop shop (Mabes Polri) be open?
If nobody actually knows this , maybe you know if Mabes Polri have social media that is active that I can ask on?

Indonesian Immigration considers SKIM the most precious document, as it leads to citizenship.

It will be approved by KanIm, then approved by KanWil-regional Immigration Office and at the end DirJen Imigrasi. When Dirjen Imigrasi approves, SKIM will be issued by your Kantor Imigrasi.

You can get SKCK trough agent if you do not want to go to Jakarta. You will just
need to send the fingerprint formula to the agent.

Good to know re using an agent to go to Jkt.
They already have my fingerprints from a while back & I have the document with them on it.

So now the hunt is on for an agent ... if anyone knows a decent one shout out, thanks.

Mine is good for South Jakarta even though she lives in Bekasi. Been using her for many years. Honest. Trustworthy. Speedy. And I've recommended many people to her in the past who also all seem happy enough

I’m just asking a question here instead of starting a new thread. Does AHU have a WA or E-Mail address for you to consult with the way Imigrasi does?

Ok, Imi came & did their visit just after that post & then said someone from the ditjen im would be visiting from Jakarta... that was a month ago, should I be more patient or should I start chasing up ?
- if so any ideas on how to contact them as I can find nothing on the website re SKIM stuff.
They still have my passport & visa.

For my Bandung imigrasi visit, they never came. They don’t respond to whatsapp messages, so no choice other than going in and asking in person.

They said they weren’t going to do an in-home interview. We would probably still be waiting if we hadn’t gone in and checked.

The Bandung peeps have been, perhaps because we aren't too far away from their office :D
It is the Jakartan bunch I am waiting for.

I’m waiting for my card, and the locals said the Jakarta office had some Covid cases. Said they'd text us when ready. Just need the office to review pic and fingerprints.

I think DitJen in Jakarta is pretty backed up at the moment. Although my case is a different (kitap and not citizenship), I've been waiting 5 weeks for them to approve my kitap and was told by the KanIm counter staff that there are several people who applied before me still waiting too.

My wife dropped my Infinite Kitap paperwork off a few weeks ago in Jakarta. It was finished a few days later. Then back to Bandung. Did photo and fingerprints, and now just waiting for the card.

Interesting. Perhaps yours materialised sooner as it's a renewal. Mine is a first time application, which could explain matters dragging on.

Congrats bad_azz, im going to do the WNI thing next year. Feeling excited about it
