Is soda water commonly available in Indo convenience stores?

Yes it is available Schweppes about 6-8,000rp a can

I was going to say no. Usually I find it in supermarkets.

Guess I should check more carefully

I don't usually see it in Alfamart/Indomaret... but in the supermarkets I do see it all over the place, even in the smaller supermarkets (not minimarkets)

OK. I was thinking of drinking mostly it not water in the office. I thought given the predominantly non drinking population it might not even exist?

After you open and pour it, give it a stir to get ride of a lot of the excess co2, sound stupid but all that gas in your stomach is bad

That.s actually why the experts claim you should agitate your beer before you drink it to stop bloating

Re: post# 6 by snpark
Thanks so much for that find...I've always advocated pouring my beer that way, because it seems logical, but never before seen/heard an expert opinion. I stop waitresses from sliding the beer, to prevent a head, but they say they've been instructed otherwise.
In my pub nearly everyone drinks straight from the bottle except me.......and they call me the wimp.
Cannot wait to show them your video.

Two fingers of foam. That’s how it should be. You can see the guy works for InBev.

Anyway, the soda water -besides the San Pellegrino or so in high end supermarkets- I never saw in bigger (1,5 liter) bottles in RI, only the Schweppes cans. (As tonic and ginger ale.) So no Spa, Bru, Evian, etc. in regular stores. They sell the carbonation / gas machines in Carrefour etc. to make your own soda.

NB: I hated it when they stopped selling Sprite Zero. And Coke Zero and Diet Coke are not very popular either (no more Infomaret, luckily still Alpha Mart), even a Carl’s Jr. took it out of their machines. Some Carefours even don’t sell it, only regular coke.

He claims it is beer but actually it is lager. Some expert he is.

Lager is not the only beer! Some people drink/like ales they are not bottom or bottle fermented. So they don't need the same "continental" foamy pour.

I personally do not like foam on my beer. If I get a foamy beer then I dip my finger in the foam to get rid of it.

Just a thought if drinking a still lager and eating a nacho fills one's stomach then that could be the new appetite suppressant/weight lost program?

Just discovered there s Carrefor in Karawang  Bonus.

Great to hear about the soda maker . I'e looked for one forever. They do sell the refill carriages too don' they ? To common here not to sell the cartridge after they sell you a machine lol. Kind of like selling motorcycle helmet but you can' replace the visor. It drives me nuts.

The helmet visor thing drives me mad too, mainly because I get a ride to the bus & then my helmet gets strapped on the bike & carted off where ever our assistant goes after dropping me off & before getting home. My visors always end up scratched to hell. However, I can pick up a whole new helmet for about 100k. I did find visors at one of the biker gigs I went to, the same price as a helmet :'(

Pretty sure a 100K helmet is not much better than a head of hair spray. .

I would also advise to to the chin strap up, I saw a motor bike collide with a taxi, he had a helmet on, but when his head hit the deck the helmet came off, it’s not nice to see someone’s head bouncing around like a football, he didn’t get up, what’s this got to do with soda???

True, just like textiles.

They also do sell the refill cartridges for the soda machines btw.

Cause nothing is more refreshing then sparkling water after a spill on a bike ...dud ! It also helps to wash down the anti boric that you need to take .

The bigger Alfamarts and Indomarets will have it, but you may have to settle for the dreaded vodka or gin Sprite if you go to the smaller stores.
