KITAP first renewal question

It is a renewal though...

If one could negotiate down to 15 mill (like you said, if time is not an issue..3-4 weeks) when it's all said and done, it's not 'too bad' assuming you'll get a full package (KITAP, MERP and the KTP OA). I paid around 7jt for just my KITAP and it took me about four months. Been there done that, but might not wanna do it all over again.

....Banana, so towards the 'infinite' KITAP version. With a DIY price of more than 11 juta and an agent losing out on quite some future business, I think that <25 juta is already a 'bargain'. Great if you could negotiate less though.

Hope no agents are reading this lol but yeah 20jt for an infinite KITAP is a pretty decent deal...

Quick question, guys. My MERP is expiring in April 2018 while my KITAP is in June 2019. So,..

1. Can you extend MERP overseas?
2. I take it that I can't re-entry Indo without a valid MERP eventhough my KITAP is still valid until 2019? Since Australian is exempted for visa (for 30 days) can I re-enter and renew my MERP/KITAP then?
3. Let's say I'm living overseas from 2018 onwards and did not renew my KITAP, the next time I want to live in Indo, I'd need to redo the whole process from SocBud --> Itas --> Itap again?

How long have you been away from Indonesia?

1. No, KBRI's don't offer that service.
2. I don't think anybody ever encountered that problem (yet)?! Theoretically you must have a MERP at all times. So they should/could consider your KTAP as void (just as you would be out of the country for more than one year) but perhaps they will just not notice and let you in. Difficult to say.
3. Yes, expired means start from scratch. Also, they could make it difficult for you returning since you did not get an EPO.

Agree with fastpitch...why not get a new 2 year MERP after June 2017, while you are still in RI. It will then last until your Kitap expiry date....June 2019.

2. The immigration officer will check the validity of your KITAP&MERP in the port of entry. If your MERP lapses while you are abroad, your KITAP will be void when you enter and you will be given a VoA.

Hi all,

I've renewed my KITAP to the unlimited one, and would like to share the documents which I was asked to submit. All in all, the process seems rather very smooth, and the 2nd KITAP cost is IDR 12,005,000 which includes the compulsory 2 years MERP. Forms and sample letters are provided by the immigration (Kanim Jakarta Timur does). KTP WNA is not a compulsory requirement, however having it is better as this confirms your Address, thus you will not need to get Surat Pengantan RT and certified at Local council / Kecematan

Documents required are:

- Formulir Izin Tinggal Terbatas Dan Tetap
- Formulir Izin Masuk Kembali Dan Pemulangan
- Surat Integrasi (Materai)
- KITAP
- Passport
- Surat Keterangan Domisili or KTP WNA
- KK (Kartu Keluarga)
- KTP WNI
- Surat Sponsor
- Akte Nikah
- Surat Jaminan Sponsor (materai)

Please note that Original needs to be shown as well for checking reference, which the will return to you on the spot. The only Original documents Immigration will keep are:
- Passport
- Immigration Card
- KITAP

After submitting all these documents, we were given a date to come back which is after 2 weeks, where they will give us 2 letters: One for Dirjen, and the other one is for Kanwil. On the same day payment needs to be done. We will have to drop those 2 letters to the offices personally. It takes approximately 2-3 working days for it to get processed and approved. Then, go back to Kanim to get photo and finger prints done. In a couple of days after this steps, the new KITAP will be ready.

After 5 days of submitting the documents to Immigration, I had a house visit for Immigration, They took pictures of me and an officer, then confirmed my KITAP photo, and got me signed two paper, one which is Immigration KITAP procedure, and the other a written document (which was written infront of me) certifying that I live at the address which is on the paper works. Nothing much, just a standard address check.

All in all, it took me 4 weeks to get my unlimited KITAP, and didn't use any agents at all. Ive only used an agent the first time I did my KITAS in Indonesia, as we were not aware of any laws, but after that with the help of knowledge from Atlantis, I've never used one again. Then went to disduk to do my ktp which was done within the same day.
Pretty simple!

Regards

Nice write up Godfather, hope I can find this thread in two years time and they haven't changed anything

Great Info Godfather. I am just starting the process now. I picked up my forms a few weeks ago but it has taken me time to fill them in. I was worried I was running low on time because immigration said I should apply in May, for my July expiry. (20th) But looks like I still have time. Waiting for surat domisili from the Kepala Desa.

I was actually coming on to see if anyone had a standard sponsor letter template they would not mind sending me. I am hoping I can get everything together and ready to take to immigration Monday morning. My email is [email protected] Thanks in advance.

Hi Imagem, I started my renewal 5 weeks before my KITAP expired. I got the standard sponsor letter example from the Immigration. Well they have all of the letters there. Anyway, later I shall email you the one I used.
Good luck with the process....

Godfather,
So this unlimited KITAP..is this your second KITAP?

My understanding is (after you converted from KITAS), the first KITAP goes for five years, second one also five years, then it's the third one that's unlimited (only require to report once a year to immigration) unless if I understood it incorrectly.

Also what's the immigration card? I thought the KITAP IS the immigration card.

1st on, 5 years. Second one, unlimited. No third one.

No Banana, the second one is the 'unlimited'. (I think he does mention somewhere it is his second ITAP.)

Normally it is passport, KITAP and KTP they would need to process. Unless he is talking about that new piece of paper you are getting now and supposed to keep in your passport, from the e-mail? But I never saw that one for ITAP, only with people who have ITAS.
